Christine Phillipps is a self-taught bead artist. Born in 1962 in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota, Christine was initially trained as a musician on the flute, which she stills plays. She started beading relatively late, having started in 2004 when she bought her first bead kit. Jewelry made by simply stringing beads was not enough, however. She quickly discovered off-loom needle techniques and seed beads. The possibilities are endless using these small perfect bits of glass. Bead embroidery and the world of cabochons also opened up a myriad of opportunities to express her creativity. Look for her table at the Greensboro Farmers Market on the corner of Yancyville Street & Lindsey Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, 2-3 Saturday mornings per month from September through June.
